A hybrid setup uses two different strings. One for the vertical mains and another for the horizontal crosses. This lets you combine the best properties of different string types.

How It Works

Mains (vertical) have the most impact on spin and control because they move laterally on contact. Polyester mains snap back aggressively, generating topspin.

Crosses (horizontal) influence comfort and power. Softer crosses like natural gut or multifilament absorb vibration and add a cushioned feel.
